I spent last weekend with the rest of the family, in Dublin, to attend the annual get together of Mountainviews.ie Any regular readers will probably have heard me singing the praises of this fantastic website for hillwalkers. Every year they have a meeting with guest speakers, and certificates are presented to those who have completed any of the various lists on the website, and for other achievements. I was very proud, because of the quality of the website, to have been told prior to the event, that I would receive two certificates on the night. One was for Photograph of the Year, for the above shot taken on Loughsalt Mountain in Co. Donegal, particularly pleasing in the face of some stiff competition. You can read my post on the walk when it was taken here: – https://aidymcglynn.wordpress.com/2015/09/04/loughsalt-mountain/
It was even more pleasing as this is the second year in a row that I’ve been awarded Photograph of the Year:

And, if I wasn’t happy enough with that, I was also given a certificate for an Outstanding Contribution for summit comments and photography. Again, I was proud of this because of the quality of Mountainviews.ie and the priceless resource it provides for hillwalkers in Ireland.
The guest speakers were fascinating, and it was great to meet familiar faces from past events, and some new people too. A brilliant night all round.
Congratulations Aidy! A fantastic achievement and so well deserved. Px
Cheers Patsy – I’ll take it anyway, deserved or not 🙂
