Looking across Lough Finn.
A nice summer evening, and itching to get out and about, I took a drive to Glenfin in Co. Donegal, following the River Finn to its source in Lough Finn. It is a great location with some of my favourite views across the lough to Scraigs and Aghla Mountain. Like many parts of Donegal, I’m amazed that it is not better known, and I’m sure that if was in some other counties, it would be world famous for its scenery.
First stop at the eastern end of the Glen.
Next stop, at the restored railway line. The railway was long closed, but a short section was re-opened as a tourist attraction with short trips alongside the lough available.
Going back eastwards, looking up at Scraigs mountain.
Such beautiful scenery! I’ll get to Ireland one of these days. Thanks for providing a bit more motivation to make it overseas.
Thanks Sean! Must be some Irish blood in with that name? Hope you make it over some day.
