The first day of our short break in Glencolmcille, and after a good day’s walking, we got cleaned up and changed, and went for something to eat. Then, in the last of the evening light, we drove out to Malin Beg. I stopped once on the way for some shots along the coast and out to Rathlin O’Birne Island.
Rathlin O’Birne Island and lighthouse.
Earlier in the day (seen in my last two posts) we had seen the watch tower up on Glen Head. Here, you can see another, on the headland.
Next we continued around the coast to Silver Strand, also known as Trabane Strand. I have posted on it before – https://aidymcglynn.wordpress.com/2015/05/20/malin-beg-and-trabane-strand/
This time, we didn’t make it down the many steps to the beach itself, contenting ourselves with taking in the views from the high ground.
A beautiful spot in the late evening light and a nice end to the day before heading back to our nearby accommodation.
A last shot of the watch tower as we made our way back.
I’d like to walk down the steps to the beach. That strand line looks inviting.
It is a great beach Jessica. We spent a fair bit of time down on the beach a few weeks earlier – stunning spot.
