Two pieces of public art in Strabane related to one of its most famous sons, the writer Flann O’Brien. Above, is a sculpture of the man himself, and below, Ambrose the pig which is both related to one of his literary creations, and a nod to the towns history when it hosted an important fair for pigs and other agricultural produce.
That’s a great bronze of Flann O’Brien. You get the feeling that it has really captured the essence of the man. The pig is cute too with its Celtic pattern.
