My last post, (and my next one) were from Tramore Strand, Rosbeg, Co. Donegal. The Irish for beach is tra, and more simply means big, so Tramore just means big beach. As a result, there are a lot of beaches known as Tramore around Ireland. A bit of confustion around this led me to dig out these old shots from Tramore, Co. Waterford, which will be bookended by posts from the Donegal Tramore. The Donegal ones were taken just a few weeks ago, and hopefully are better quality than these ones taken in 2006 when I was just getting interested in photography, and hadn’t even progressed to using an SLR yet. Anyway, here goes!
Nice shots. I am from Tramore and I try and visit as many other Tramores as possible when I am off around the country. I must try to do a post on them all sometime…though it will take years! There are tons of White Strands too.
Lovely spot. It was a favourite holiday destination for us over the years and we’ve been several times.
