Back In Dingle

Nearing the end of our second day in Kerry, and we found ourselves back in Dingle having torn ourselves reluctantly away from the coastal drive, in search of food.  We got some excellent fish and chips in Dingle, and had another short walk around before heading back towards Killarney.

We didn’t have time on this trip for taking a boat out in the hope of seeing Dingle’s famous dolphin Fungi, and had to make do with this bronze sculpture.

Another sculpture, this time of former Taoiseach (Prime Minister), Charles Haughey – a controversial figure it would be fair to say.

The subjects of the rest of the photos here, are the fantastic lenticular clouds that graced the sky above Dingle that evening.

As we left Dingle, we had to stop just outside the town for a last shot of those clouds above the mountains.  What a place!

  1. What clouds!! Dingle is a wickedly good spot, though I tend to go out of season. The South Pole celebrating Tom Crean on the main road to Tralee is well worth a visit for memorabilia……..MM 🍀

  2. Fantastic clouds. I wonder if people ever mistake them for flying saucers! At the moment, I am looking out over Dingle Harbour but the sky is just dull and overcast. It has been a brilliant day though, and who knows, maybe I’ll see some of those interesting clouds too before I leave. Hope so.

    1. Hope you have a brilliant time Jessica. I have no doubt you can find interesting things wherever you are anyway – I’d say you have an enquiring mind that’s rarely bored. Is this your first day? Looking forward to seeing how you get on.

      1. This is our first full day and the weather is good. We spent the day on the beach at Ventry just west of where we are staying and have had a great day – took nearly 500 photos! May be a while before I post any though because the WiFi is a bit erratic in these parts at the moment.

  3. Glad to hear you’re getting some good weather and enjoying it. Looking forward to those photos. I wonder has the solar activity anything to do with the Wifi problems. Could be a bit hit and miss anyway down there – one of the attractions in some ways!
