We had made the long drive down to Kerry from Co. Tyrone the previous day, arriving late in the evening. By the time we had unpacked and drove into Killarney for dinner, it was too late for photography. We were staying in Fossa, a few miles outside Killarney on the northern shore of Lough Leane, and impatient to get out with the camera, I got up early the next morning, before anyone else had stirred, and went out for a walk along the lough shore to capture some of the morning light.
I managed to get to the shore OK, but it was difficult to go far in either direction as the shoreline was thick with vegetation, but I was pleased to get some shots in the bag.
Beautiful early light. It all looks so wonderfully tranquil.
Had the whole place to myself Jessica – not often you get that in Killarney in high summer!
