A walk on a summer evening along the hedges around the fields near our house in Castlederg, Co. Tyrone, looking at the smaller details.
Magpie moth. There were hundreds of these fluttering about.
Another magpie moth in the grass.
Honeysuckle. We would suck the nectar from these as children, the sweet taste leading to the name.
Dock leaf on its last legs.
Dock seeds catching the evening sun.
Closer view of the dock seeds.
Couldn’t identify this plant unfortunately.
Grass seeds catching the light.
Bramble flower.
Bramble thorns.
And some flowers that were growing wild but I suspect were escapees from gardens.
Nicely observed details of the wildlife in the hedgerows. I think the pink flowers might be escaped garden Sweet Williams.
Thanks Jessica, for the comment and the pointer. I was never a gardener, but definitley didn’t look familiar from walks in wilder areas.
