Going Home From Errigal

My previous two posts were an account of a day’s hill walking on Mount Errigal in Co. Donegal.  I was lucky enough to have a beautiful, clear day to enjoy the views, but I did mention that the sea to the west and north was obscured by a thick bank of fog.  After leaving Errigal, I drove around to its northern side, on the way home, and from there, I could see the fog now moving closer to the mountain too.

Within minutes the mountain was almost completely enveloped.

I continued north to the shores of New Lake near Dunfanaghy where I was now well into the fog bank.  I spent a few minutes beside the lake admiring the boats used by anglers, and watching a family of swans, before moving on.

A bit of a contrast to just a little earlier when in bright sunshine, I was the highest man in Donegal, with expansive views all around.
