Photos from a recent trip to Rathmullan, found on the shore of Lough Swilly, at the bottom of the Fanad Peninsula in County Donegal. This set was taken on a walk along the beach.
Inch Island across the sea lough, Lough Swilly.
It wasn’t all picturesque – there were many signs of death washed up on the beach.
Some close-ups of the rocks and the lichens making their home on them.
Beach hut tucked away behind the small dunes.
Yachts on Lough Swilly.
Nice beach for a walk, and there are other interesting features where the town meets the shore including some public art, and a fishing pier, which will follow in another post.
Looks like another lovely place to visit. You have captured some great shots. I particularly (perhaps predictably) like the lichen and rocks images – beautiful textures and patterns.
Thanks Jessica. As usual, you did cross my mind when I took the lichen shots! It would be great to see you let loose with an SLR and macro lens.
