Croaghan Hill is in Co. Donegal between Lifford and Castlefin. It is a small hill at only 217 metres, but is prominent in the area, and has great views. A frosty morning in late November was perfect for a walk to the summit.
There were fantastic views across the Finn Valley in the early morning light from low down on the South side of the hill.
Looking North from close to the summit.
The trig pillar on the summit, complete with wind-tattered Donegal flag. The Bluestack Mountains are visible on the horizon in the West.
There were expansive views from the summit in all directions.
Looking North.
Looking Northwest.
Another view Northwards.
Looking West to the Bluestacks.
The descent was in different light, and the high cirrus clouds were a bonus.
Looking West to Strabane in Co. Tyrone.
A look back to the summit.
Arriving at the laneway and the short walk back to the car.
